자연경관이 아름답고 경관적ㆍ학술적 가치가 높은 자연유산인 전북자치도 김제시 진봉면 망해사(望海寺) 대웅전이 원인을 알 수 없는 화재로 전소됐다.

지난 13일 오후 11시 17분께 진봉면 망해사에서 불이 나 100㎡ 규모의 지상 1층 한식 기와지붕 건물인 대웅전이 전소됐다.

불이 날 당시 사찰에 사람이 없어 다행히 인명피해는 발생하지 않았고 불은 1시간 20여분 만에 진화됐다.

경찰과 소방당국은 현재 정확한 화인을 조사하고 있다.
